Strawberries – You will need two cups of sliced fresh or frozen strawberries, measured after slicing. If starting with fresh strawberries, freeze them after slicing.

Milk of choice – Use coconut milk or coconut cream for the richest ice cream taste. Or unsweetened almond milk is a great low calorie choice that yields a tasty sherbet texture. Oat milk, soymilk, or nondairy creamer are all good options here.

Sweetener – Go with your favorite all purpose sweetener, such as cane sugar, brown sugar, pure maple syrup, or honey. For an added sugar free strawberry Dole Whip, add erythritol, allulose, monk fruit, or stevia to taste.

Pineapple juice (optional) – This ingredient adds tropical flair to the dessert. If you are on a keto diet or simply do not have pineapple juice on hand, you may omit it or substitute an equal amount of lemon juice.

Salt (optional) – I like to throw in a tiny pinch of salt (about 1/16th of a teaspoon) for flavor balance. You can absolutely leave out the salt if you prefer.

How to make the recipe at home

Begin by slicing your strawberries and discarding the green stems. Measure out two cups of strawberries.
Add the frozen berries to a high speed blender or food processor, along with the milk, sugar, and all optional ingredients.
Blend until completely smooth. Serve immediately in bowls, cups, or cones. Or use a large spoon to transfer the strawberry soft serve to a piping bag fitted with an icing tip and freeze about fifteen minutes. Then squeeze out in a swirl pattern, as shown in the video.
