Layn: Healthy Aging | Prepared Foods

Layn Natural Ingredients will use this year’s SupplySide Global exhibition in Las Vegas to introduce NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide), which is produced through enzymatic catalysis.

 NMN is a naturally occurring compound found in the body that supports cellular energy production, metabolism, and healthy aging by boosting NAD⁺ levels, which decline over time. Recently, NMN gained attention after the FDA reversed its previous position—and now will allow the ingredient to remain in the US dietary supplement market. FDA reaffirmed its status as a legal and accessible option for both brands and consumers.

“We’re proud to introduce our new NMN ingredient produced through enzymatic catalysis,” said Daniel Liu, Ph.D., Director of R&D at Layn’s Shanghai Biyan Biotechnology. “This milestone underscores our ongoing commitment in biotechnology innovation. By leveraging precision fermentation and enzyme-based technologies, we are unlocking new ways to produce high-purity bioactives more efficiently and sustainably.”

Produced at Layn’s newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility utilizing cutting-edge biotechnology, NMN becomes the fifth addition to the company’s precision fermentation and enzyme-based portfolio, following:

•             Galacan, a next-generation beta-glucan for gut health and total body wellness, featuring a patented helical structure and 90% β-1,3; 1,4; 1,6 glucan content for enhanced efficacy;

•             Resveratrol 98%, produced via fermentation for superior purity and consistency;

•             Stevia Reb-M, a high-purity natural sweetener created through bioconversion technology;  and

•             SteviUp M2, the newest generation Reb-M introduced in July 2025, enzymatically bioconverted for excellent solubility and a clean, sugar-like taste, and FDA GRAS affirmed.

Together, these innovations reinforce Layn’s leadership in natural solutions—delivering sustainable, high-purity bioactives that bridge nature and technology for wellness and functional food and beverage products. Building on this momentum, Layn is advancing new ingredients such as Mogroside V, now at lab scale, with more to come under its growing biotechnology and enzyme production platforms.

Supporting the global sweetener supply chain

Now entering the monk fruit harvest season, it is the ideal time for brands to plan supply and contracts for the coming year. As the world’s largest producer and innovator of monk fruit and stevia, Layn offers vertically integrated sourcing — from tissue culturing and seedling to farmer partnerships and quality control — ensuring consistent quality, stable output, and sustainable agriculture.

Layn now provides multi-year monk fruit contracts with secured supply, guaranteed pricing, and long-term assurance to meet the growing demand for natural sweeteners. Its monk fruit portfolio includes monk fruit extract, monk fruit juice powder, and monk fruit juice concentrate, offering versatile solutions for a wide range of applications. Complementing its supply leadership, Layn also advances natural sweetener innovations such as SteviUp M2, fermented Mogroside V, and U.S.-made sweetener blends for clean-label, reduced-sugar applications.
