Key ingredients

Just 3 ingredients required for these no bake chocolate strawberry snack bites.

Chocolate – I like semi sweet or dark chocolate chips. You can use milk or white chocolate if preferred. Standard size and mini chocolate chips both work, as do sugar free chocolate chips.

Strawberries – Choose fresh strawberries with the stems removed. Or thaw frozen strawberries and blot away any ice crystals before chopping.

Vanilla yogurt – This can be sweetened or unsweetened. Full fat Greek yogurt or extra thick dairy free yogurt are the best options because of their thick, creamy texture.

Sweetener (optional) – If using unsweetened yogurt, I recommend adding two tablespoons of pure maple syrup or honey. Or add stevia drops or sweetener of choice to taste.

Coconut oil (optional) – Stirring a little oil into the melted chocolate will give you a smoother sauce that makes it easier to coat the strawberry clusters.

How to make healthy chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters

  1. Start by lining a baking sheet or large platter with parchment paper or wax paper. Set this tray aside.
  2. Wash and chop the strawberries, discarding stems.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, stir the yogurt, diced strawberries, and optional sweetener until well combined.
  4. Use a spoon to drop dollops of the berry mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread each into a patty shape.
  5. Freeze a few hours until fully frozen, or you can freeze them overnight.
  6. Carefully melt the chocolate chips, either in the microwave or using the double boiler method. (For those who want very detailed instructions on the proper way to melt chocolate, see this post on Chocolate Covered Strawberries.)
  7. Once chocolate sauce is melted, I like to stir in a few teaspoons of coconut oil for a smoother consistency. This step is optional.
  8. Remove the strawberry clusters from the freezer, and dip in melted chocolate.
  9. Then return to the freezer for a few minutes, until chocolate coating sets.
  10. Enjoy cold. Freeze leftovers in a tightly covered container for up to three months, or store in the refrigerator for a much softer texture, up to four days.

Chocolate yogurt bite variations

Raspberry: Swap the strawberries for chopped fresh or frozen raspberries.

Blueberry: Swap the strawberries for fresh or frozen blueberries. Look for small berries, or cut large ones in half.

Peanut Butter Banana: Stir two tablespoons peanut butter (or almond butter or powdered peanut butter) into the yogurt. Use diced banana in place of the berries.

Pomegranate: Add one and a half cups of pomegranate arils instead of strawberries.

Strawberry Nutella: Stir three tablespoons jarred or Homemade Nutella into the yogurt. Top with flaky sea salt and crushed hazelnuts immediately after dipping in chocolate.

The recipe was adapted from my Chocolate Raspberry Bark and these Buster Bars.

  • 1. Line a baking sheet or large platter with wax or parchment paper.

  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, stir the diced strawberries, yogurt, and sweetener until well combined.

  • 3. Drop dollops of the mixture onto the lined baking tray with a spoon. Then use the spoon to spread each into a patty shape.

  • 4. Freeze at least three hours or overnight, until fully frozen.

  • 5. Carefully melt the chocolate chips, either in the microwave or using the double boiler method on the stove top. For a smoother sauce that coats the clusters much more easily, I highly recommend stirring the optional oil into the melted chocolate.

  • 6. Remove the healthy chocolate strawberry yogurt clusters from the freezer, and dip each in the chocolate. Return to the freezer for a few minutes to set the coating.

  • 7. Enjoy cold, and keep frozen. In a covered container, leftovers should stay fresh for up to three months.
