I absolutely love these homemade popsicles because they taste like a little tropical vacation on a stick! The mango is bright and juicy, the coconut yogurt gives them a silky texture, and the fresh lime adds just enough zing to keep them tasting light and refreshing.

They have tons of tropical flavor, just like my Mango Popsicles, with the same smooth texture as my Greek yogurt High-Protein Popsicles and Fresh Fruit and Yogurt Popsicles. Every bite is fruity, bright, and satisfying!

Keep these mango coconut popsicles in the freezer for hot summer days, pool afternoons, and every time someone wanders into the kitchen asking for a snack!

Before You Get Started

A few quick choices will help the popsicles blend smoothly and freeze evenly.

  • Choose your yogurt: Use a thick, spoonable coconut-flavored Greek yogurt, such as Chobani, for plenty of coconut flavor and a rich texture.
  • Prepare the mango: Fresh or frozen mango works well. Let frozen mango soften slightly and drain away any excess liquid so it blends easily.
  • Zest before juicing: Remove the lime zest before cutting and squeezing the lime. It’s much easier to zest a whole lime!
  • Set up the molds: Place the popsicle mold on a small sheet pan or cutting board before filling it so you can move it into the freezer without spilling. Plastic or silicone popsicle molds both work!

How to Make This Mango Popsicle Recipe

These popsicles take just a few minutes to blend before the freezer finishes the job.

1. Prepare The Mango And Lime

Peel and chop the mango into blender-friendly pieces.

Zest the lime, then cut it in half and squeeze out the juice.

  • Pro tip: Use a fine grater or microplane for the zest and stop when you reach the bitter white pith underneath the green skin.

2. Blend Until Smooth

Add the coconut Greek yogurt, mango, lime juice, and lime zest to a blender.

Blend until the mango is completely broken down and the mixture looks thick and uniform. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.

  • Pro tip: Give the blender enough time to smooth out any small mango fibers. The mixture should look like a thick smoothie without visible fruit pieces.

3. Taste And Adjust

Taste the mixture before freezing. Add a little honey when the mango or yogurt needs more sweetness.

Add another squeeze of lime for a tangier flavor, then blend briefly to combine.

  • Pro tip: Add extra lime juice in small amounts so the citrus doesn’t overpower the coconut and mango. Extra zest adds stronger lime flavor without thinning the mixture.

4. Fill And Freeze

Pour the mixture into the popsicle molds, leaving about ¼ inch of space at the top for expansion. Tap the mold gently against the counter to release trapped air, then insert the sticks.

Freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, until completely solid. Similar Slender Kitchen yogurt popsicles also freeze best for at least 6 hours before unmolding.

  • Pro tip: Place the mold toward the back of the freezer, where the temperature usually stays more consistent.

No Popsicle Mold Method

You can still make these mango popsicles with a few basic kitchen supplies!

Pour the mixture into small paper cups or silicone muffin cups. Cover paper cups tightly with foil and push a wooden popsicle stick through the center of the foil to hold it upright.

You can also freeze the uncovered cups for 30 to 45 minutes, then add the sticks once the mixture is thick enough to support them. Freeze until completely solid.

Recipe Tips and Tricks

These details help the popsicles freeze evenly, taste bright, and release cleanly from the molds.

  • Taste for extra sweetness: Frozen foods taste less sweet than they do at room temperature, so the blended mixture should taste slightly sweeter than you want the finished popsicle.
  • Prevent an icy texture: Stick with thick Greek yogurt and avoid adding unnecessary water. Extra moisture can make yogurt popsicles freeze harder and develop more ice crystals.
  • Make a mango swirl: Blend the yogurt and lime separately, puree the mango on its own, and alternate the two mixtures in the molds. Drag a skewer through each one for a soft swirl.
  • Add chili-lime flavor: Sprinkle the finished popsicles lightly with Tajín or another chili-lime seasoning right before serving.
  • Try mini popsicles: Smaller molds are great for kids and quick snacks, and they usually freeze faster than full-size pops.
  • Release them gently: Run only the outside of the mold under warm water for 5 to 10 seconds, then pull steadily on the stick. Avoid twisting, which can loosen the stick from the popsicle.

Storage & Reheating

Once the popsicles are completely frozen, proper wrapping keeps them fresh and prevents freezer burn.

  • Storage: Remove the frozen popsicles from their molds and wrap them individually in parchment paper or plastic wrap. Transfer them to an airtight freezer bag or container.
  • Freezer: Keep the popsicles frozen for up to 1 to 2 months for the best color, flavor, and texture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about this recipe:

Can I use plain or vanilla Greek yogurt?

Yes! Plain Greek yogurt creates a tangier popsicle and may need a little honey for balance. Vanilla Greek yogurt gives the popsicles a sweeter flavor but won’t provide the same coconut taste. Add a small amount of coconut extract to plain or vanilla yogurt when you want to keep the coconut flavor.

Can I make Coconut Mango Popsicles dairy-free?

Yes. Replace the Greek yogurt with a thick coconut-milk yogurt. Choose a Greek-style dairy-free yogurt when possible so the mixture has enough body. The protein content will depend on the dairy-free yogurt you choose, since many coconut-based yogurts contain less protein than dairy Greek yogurt.

Why did my mango and yogurt mixture separate?

The mixture may not have been blended long enough, or it may have sat for too long before freezing. Blend until the yogurt and fruit look completely uniform, then fill the molds and move them directly to the freezer.

Can I use canned mango puree?

Yes. Choose an unsweetened mango puree and begin with the same volume as the mango chunks. Taste before adding honey since canned puree may be sweeter or more concentrated than fresh fruit. Avoid mango pie filling or heavily sweetened mango pulp unless you plan to reduce or skip the additional sweetener.

Are Coconut Mango Popsicles high in protein?

Greek yogurt provides the protein in these popsicles. The exact amount per pop will depend on the yogurt brand, the size of the molds, and how many popsicles the batch makes. Using a Greek yogurt with a higher protein content will create a more filling frozen snack than using regular yogurt or coconut milk.
